Paracetamol does not have a meaningful interaction with most common antibiotics such as amoxicillin, and it is widely used to ease the fever and aches that come with infections. It is processed by the liver rather than competing with how antibiotics work.
Be mindful not to double up on paracetamol if you are also using combined cold and flu remedies, and stay within the labelled daily maximum. If you have liver disease or drink alcohol heavily, get tailored advice.
If your fever is very high, persists despite treatment, or you develop a rash, swelling, or breathing problems, contact your doctor, as the infection may be worsening or you may be reacting to the antibiotic. Always finish the prescribed antibiotic course.
