What it is used for

  • Pain and inflammation from arthritis and other joint conditions

How it works

Naproxen blocks the COX enzymes that produce prostaglandins, reducing pain, inflammation and fever. It is longer-acting than some other NSAIDs, so doses are needed less often.

How it is taken

Available as standard and gastro-resistant tablets, and oral suspension. Take it exactly as your doctor, pharmacist or the label directs, usually with or after food to protect the stomach. Swallow gastro-resistant tablets whole.

  • Signs of kidney problems (reduced urination, swelling)
  • Severe skin reactions
