How it works
Coal tar slows the overly fast growth of skin cells and reduces scaling, itching and inflammation in conditions like psoriasis.
How it is taken
Available as shampoos, creams, ointments, lotions and bath additives. Use on the scalp or skin exactly as the label or your clinician directs, leaving shampoos on for the stated time before rinsing. It has a strong smell and can stain skin, hair, fabrics and surfaces, so take care with clothing and bedding.
